Project Overview & Concept
UBI Marine proposes building a custom 30′ (9.14m) LOA x 9′ (2.74m) Beam twin-hull aluminum fishing catamaran. This design
prioritizes a large, stable aft deck for fishing, exceptional seaworthiness for offshore use, and a functional cabin with basic
amenities. Our experience confirms that a catamaran hull offers superior stability, fuel efficiency, and shallow draft—ideal for
both fishing and trailering.
Preliminary Specifications & Budgetary Pricing
The table below outlines our proposed configuration. All figures are estimates for a single vessel.CategoryProposed SpecificationNotes / RationaleHull & ConstructionMarine-grade aluminum alloy (5083). Catamaran twin-hull design.
Aluminum provides durability, low maintenance, and is ideal for cold saltwater. Hull design inspired by our proven fishing
catamaran platforms.DimensionsLOA: 30 ft / Beam: 9 ft / Approx. Draft: 1.8 ft.Optimized for stability and within trailering
limits.LayoutForward Cabin: V-berth sleeping area, compact toilet, basic galley space. Aft Deck: Large, open working deck with
rear helm station.Maximizes open deck space for fishing activities as requested.Propulsion2 x Suzuki Outboard Engines, 300 HP
each. Rigging with dual controls.Provides the power and reliability needed for Alaskan waters. Yamaha is also available.Fishing
FeaturesLarge in-floor live well, raw-water washdown system on aft deck, prepared mounting for electronics.Core features for
serious fishing.ElectronicsGarmin Chartplotter/Fishfinder Combo (model to be specified). As requested. Other brands can be
accommodated.Comfort/UtilitiesDiesel-fired cabin heater, 750-liter (200-gallon) fuel tank, fresh water system.Essential for
comfort and range in Alaskan climate.TrailerCustom aluminum trailer, tandem or triple axle, electric brakes, suited for boat
dimensions and weight.Required for road transport.
price depends on detailed engineering and finish selections.Estimated Build Time5 – 7 months from contract signing and deposit.
Timeline for engineering, construction, and fitting.
